CC Jukebox: Taylor Swift's Fearless Platinum Bonus Songs

Incredible stuff

I don't know whether all of you are aware of this, but Taylor Swift just re-released her Fearless album with 6 brand new songs along with a DVD that contains music videos, behind the scenes of videos, exclusive tour photos and much more. It's not available here in Indonesia just yet (will it ever?) but I've listened to her 6 new songs and I'm telling you, they're awesome!

I'm rather disappointed with the album cover though. The black does not do the original cover any justice, if any it makes the album look cheap and makes people think (well me, really) that it was quickly and badly photoshopped. I even prefer her 'fairy-fairy'-princessy theme that she had going for her first album and EP cover. After the click, check out my review of her new songs and the download link for them.

Jump Then Fall
Take a deep breath and jump then fall into me
The first time around I heard this one, I didn't like it straight-away. But after listening to it a couple of times, I fell in love with it. She sings about the stuff that she usually sings about, but to me it just doesn't get old.

Untouchable
You're untouchable burning brighter than the sun
The best song out of the six. It's a cover of Luna Halo's song and the verdict is that Taylor Swift did a much better job singing it. Now I'm not familiar with Luna Halo, I understand that they are a hard-rocking sort of band. But I also heard their version of Untouchable and it does not touch Taylor Swift's rendition. I don't know of this is true, but people are saying that Taylor co-wrote the song with them. If she did, great, if she didn't, still great, because she sounds incredible singing it.

Forever and Always (Piano Version)
And you flashback to when he said forever and always
Ah, the Joe Jonas song. Honestly, she can do better than that player. Anyway, about the song, I like this version A LOT. Probably better than her original version. It was very heart-felt, emotional and made her seem vulnerable. The bit where she sings 'please back-up', which was not in the original, gave me goosebumps.

Come In With the Rain
I'm right here hoping that you'll come in with the rain
This is my least favourite of the bunch, not because it's awful or anything, but I've actually heard this song a while ago, so it lost its charm for me already. And I don't really like how the chorus sounds like. I like the verses though.

Superstar
Give me a photograph to hang on my wall, superstar
Please don't let this be a song about Joe Jonas, because to me that's what it sounds like (pre Forever and Always of course). When I saw the title, the first thing that came to mind was Tegan and Sara's Superstar, but surprise surprise, it's way different. I love it when Taylor says superstar; it's something that she has not done in any of her previous songs and it's a really nice change.

The Other Side of the Door
Stand outside my window, throwing pebbles screaming "I'm in love with you."
Another one of my favourite. I love what she's singing about; fighting, pretending it's over but all she really wants is for him to chase her. I don't know, I'm just a sucker for themes like this. And she executes it very, very, VERY nicely. I get it, I totally get it.
