Hauntingly beautiful.

I am very happy to report that I've recently got my reading mojo back. After a long while just reading books without finishing them, I'm finally back on a roll. I've completed three novels in a span of a week (not really remarkable as they were sorta thin, but I'll take whatever after the lull I have been in). Now, now... I just remembered that before completing The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, I completed Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen first, but we'll talk about that in a different post. This post is for The Virgin Suicides; a homage to the sheer poignant beauty of the narrative and the way it was written.

I loved it. Completely. It tells the story of the five Lisbon sisters and how they all committed suicide in a span of one year. It's a depressing theme. But I have to argue that it was written so beautifully, so eerily haunting, that well... it was just beautiful. After reading it, the story stays with you. It leaves you wondering, and the Lisbon sisters - even though they all died - continues to live within your minds. The book is written from the perspective of a group of young boys who live within the same neighbourhood as the Lisbon girls. And that's what makes the story of the Lisbon sisters all the more mysterious and grabbing; because the boys didn't really know what went on, they couldn't fit the puzzles together... and consequently, neither can the reader. They are left - or rather, we are left - with fragments of pictures, of haunting memories... all those things that keep you guessing, that will never provide answers. The boys never solved the mystery that was the Lisbon sisters. And guess what, neither will we.

The Other Side of Christian Bale

Ooo, the Fighter was so good!

After watching The Green Hornet and No Strings Attached, I vowed to myself that I will never ever spend money on stupid movies again. Seriously. Well, okay I'll cut some slack on No Strings Attached (that Ashton Kutcher line at the end sort of made it not-so-bad in my books), but The Green Hornet ... seriously? That movie was complete rubbish. I've been watching really terrible movies lately (the Fockers? URGH), and so yes, I've sworn to myself (not that it'll do any good, now that Hollywood movies are not being distributed here anymore; revolt people, REVOLT!). Anywho, after those last two terrible movies, I went to watch The Fighter. Thus, I've made good on my vow. That movie was excellent!

I don't know exactly when I started being a Christian Bale fan; it could have just been from the Batman movies (on a side note, how excited are we for the new Batman movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard?), and he just continues to blow me away, especially with The Fighter now under his belt. Amy Adams impressed me very much too in this movie; such a turn around from her character in Enchanted. The storyline was compelling, not really anything new, but with this wonderful cast and their amazing acting chops, this movie really became something special. If you have not seen it, go see it now like stat. Especially now that we are soon to be deprived of Hollywood movies.

Let Me In

Err, no. You may not come in.

My first movie of 2011 is noneother than Let Me In, the remake of 2008's Sweedish film - similarly titled - Let the Right One In (what's with Hollywood and their Sweedish film remakes?). The movies are based on a book also titled Let the Right One in by John Adjvide Lindqvist (for the life of me, I can't figure out how to pronounce that name). Was it good? Why yes, yes it was.

I'm not sure if many people here - my friends in particular - will enjoy this movie as much as I did. They may be expecting some sort of action-packed vampire thriller filled with gore and blood. And even though Let Me In does showcase some gore, it really is not what you'd expect from these type of stories. This movie is a movie about friendship. That is all. It's poignant and hauntingly beautiful. It really leaves you thinking. And that is what great movies are made up of.

I must point out that Abby moves like Splice when she goes for the kill. Why am I pointing this out? Because it's freaky as hell. Splice is the freakiest sh*t I've ever laid my eyes on. But anyway, do watch Let Me In but please do so with the right frame of mind. It's not a movie filled with cheap action scenes, over-the-top dialogues or irrational twits and turns.

This movie is close to perfection.

And alas, I am back.

Only half-an hour till the 31st of December 2010. Tik a tok a tik a tok. And I've finally found my way back to this little blog of mine. I really do try to update it, I do, but well - you know. Let's hope I can update it once a day? That might be stretching it a little though, so let's try for once a week.

What can I say? 2010 has been very kind to me. I've travelled, I've lost love - I've gained love, got my first real job... 2010, you've been wonderful. This year has been filled with many new incredible experiences that I would not trade for anything and I feel richer all the more for it. Life's good, can't complain.

I'm not going into the book reviews just yet. I know I promised Mockingjay and maybe others, but I feel like that that's old news? So I'm going to skip it and start afresh in 2011 (did not love Mockingjay FYI). The last book I read in 2010 was Darklight by Lesley Livingston. It was OK. As usual, the beginning-middle was very average, but just when I've decided to stop reading the series, the end just grabs me again. And I want to go on. Well, it's a trilogy, I might as well finish it.

This is it for now. I will be updating again in the near future. In the meantime, here's a snapshot of what I've been upto (apart from work and uni);

Wicked Lovely...

is Wickedly good.

After my first fairy book - Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston - I was suddenly in the market for more. It turns out that Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr is a much more popular one than Livingston's. However, I've heard mixed reviews for it... you know the usual good, bad, good, bad. Somebody also went on to say that Wondrous Strange is everything they had hoped Wicked Lovely to be. So yes, I was on the fence about it. But I was going to be on an 8 hour flight to Abu Dhabi, and I decided that whatever book I could get my hands on, you know, just buy it. Better be safe than sorry. And I'm going on record to say that boy am I glad I'd decided to buy it.

I ended up reading this book before my holiday. And I finished it in one day. I thought the characterization of the characters were pretty good. The story itself was riveting. - very original. And the angst which I loveeee so much was all there. It was so refreshing because I didn't hate the girl protagonist. She was so not annoying *coughBellacough*. I was in love with Seth from day one. And I really liked the underlying love story of the narrative.

That being said, I do have some complaints.

With Wondrous Strange... I hated the beginning but ended up loving the ending. It was so climatic. With Wicked Lovely... I loved the beginning but didn't really care for the ending. Yes, I love Aislinn, but towards the end, she did get a bit irritating. Everything was wrapped up too nicely for my liking. And there was a nice twist there in the end - something to do with the Winter Court, don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it -, but then it was solved so easily. A big turn-off.

I still love the book as a whole though. Even though the destination wasn't all that great, the ride getting there was worth it. So this begs the question, will I continue reading the series?

Tentative.

Lots of people say that the first book was good - I agree - but the rest are really not worth reading. I still have plenty of books to read right now anyway, so... I'll think about it and we'll see. Good news is that it looks like a movie is in the works for Wicked Lovely.

From the greatest holiday ever!

HELLO! Just how is everyone doing? My, how my blog has been quiet! Hopefully that won't be the case starting soon. So yes, I'm back from my holiday to Jordan, Israel and Egypt and yes, I was blown away by those 3 countries (I can now honestly claim that I've been to Africa!). Everything was just so breathtaking, and the people there were extremely nice and friendly. It was the most happiest 12 days of my life. I took many pictures - over 600 I think - and I wont be uploading them all here. I don't randomly approve friend requests.

So this is how my blog will operate for the next few days. I will put up book reviews - like usual - but in between them will be tidbits from my holiday. So after this post, I'll put up my review of Wicked Lovely. And then a holiday tidbit, and then a review of Mockingjay (yes, I finally got it and I've finished it last night). And so forth.

Uni is starting, starting on thesis, internship and my first real job. It will be a super busy year. I hope everyone is having a nice day!

Adios, Indonesia!

and heeellllooooo Egypt and Israel!

Tomorrow will be the day that my real holiday really starts. I'm really excited. I have been obsessed with Egypt's history since I was in year 7 (thanks Mrs. Wilson!) and I have never imagined that I would one day actually go there and see the pyramids with my own eyes! It's a dream come true! And then there's Israel; I'll finally get to see all the places that I've read in the bible. I am sooo stoked! It's a 12 day trip. It's now 2.49 am and I just finished packing (I guess that's what happens when you leave everything till the last minute right?). I hope all of you are having a very nice holiday. I'll be back in I guess, 2 weeks!

P.S. I've finished Wicked Lovely and am now starting on Graceling. I haven't had time to write a review for Wicked Lovely - I'll do so when I get back - but I gave it 4 stars. The ending wasn't amazing, but the whole ride was. Also, Mockingjay has not arrived. I'm so sad. So my plane-read will be Graceling and The Gargoyle. Take care everyone!

Beastly

Still lookin mighty fine Mr. Pettyfer!

I believe I have not posted anything really Beastly related in this blog of mine, and well, I think that's blasphemy. I have not read the book - written by Alex Flinn - but I have seen the movie trailer and yes, it is epic looking. I don't think I'll be picking up the book; a modern-take on one of my favourite fairytales, Beauty and the Beast. I like my YA books to be very, fantasy-like, which I think Beastly sort of is, but not as much as my usual munches like; I Am Number Four, Wondrous Strange, Wicked Lovely and so forth. However, without a doubt, I'll definitely be watching the movie. After looking at these posters, how can anyone refrain?

Beautiful, isn't it? Which one do you like better? I reckon they're both amazing! Beasted up as he is, Alex Pettyfer still manages to look super, duper irresistable. And Vanessa Hudgens looks gorgeous on both posters. I really can't wait for this movie, set to be released next year (Damn Charlie St. Cloud!). I'm not sure which one I'm more looking forward to; Beastly or I Am Number Four. If I'm not mistaken, they'll be released within a month of each other; something about Alex Pettyfer being introduced to the U.S market. Anyhow, I can't wait! I'm sure, if you're anything like me, you can't too. ;)

I Am Number Four

Who's next?

Throw away the eye-make up remover, my tears practically did all the work for me. Seconds after I finished reading Pittacus Lore's (pseudonym created by Jobie Hughes & James Frey) I Am Number Four, I looked into the mirror at my tear-stricken face and realized my black eyeliner has smudged all around my eyes, and all I had to do was swipe a cotton bud at them and voila, clean! (this ain't good for your face, but that's all I can do right now). So how did I like this YA sci-fi? It wasn't at all bad, I tell you that.

You see, it is a heart. But not a coloured full heart. In scores, this translates as 3 stars out of 5. Which means I just liked it instead of really, really liking it. Why? While no doubt the story really got me in the end, it had started really slow. I liked the first two chapters a lot, but after that, it was kind of tedious. I liked Number 4 a.k.a John Smith quite a bit; he was very believable as a teenage boy, alien though he is. And I also liked Henri (his guardian, or in the book's term, his Cepan), and I liked his bestfriend, Sam Goode. I really did not like John's love interest, Sarah Hart (she was so plain, so typical, so underwhelming), and I hope with a passion that Dianna Agron makes her likeable in the movie (to be released on February, 2011). Their love story has a bittersweet ending (throughout it was just a corny-fest), the kind of endings that I totally love, but this time around, it did nothing for me. And for me, the love stories in books are the things that determine whether a book is good or not, admist all the other themes in it. Sadly, this one part of the book didn't work for me.

For me, emotion was lacking throughout the story. However, when it was there right almost at the end, it really set my tears running. Good as it was though, it doesn't quite make up for the absence of it throughout most part of the book. Yes, there were lots of violence (I thought it would never end!) which makes me conclude that this book is geared more towards boys than it is for girls. Maybe because the writers are both males, they weren't able to really write a girl character very well (not being sexist here, but I really think that that played a role), and thus the epic fail character of Sarah Hart. I thought the climax of the book, while absorbing, wasn't written very well either. I got confused a lot reading it. BUT, I do think that the ending was good. And the ending saved the whole thing for me. Because of it, I will continue the series and am looking forward to reading The Power of Six to be released in Spring 2011. Oh my, another 5 year long wait before the series end (there'll be 6 books). I'll be so old by then, will I still be interested in YA? Hmm, I think I will be. lol.

The upside of this book is that the authors are not like Cassandra Clare when it comes to their characters. Read it and you'll know what I mean.

Here's my favourite sentence of the book;

"Bright, kind eyes full of life look into mine as though offering a promise, a bond, yet I'm too young to know what that promise or bond really means."

In context, it will break your heart.

Book Hunting

I deem it a success!

Woah. Hectic days. One minute you've got completely nothing to do and then all of a sudden, you don't have enough time to do everything you need to do! That pretty much sums up my last couple of days. I won't bore you all with the details; suffice it to say I made time for book-hunting, and I came home laden with everything I had wanted to read (almost, but extremely good enough).

Yes, your eyes ain't playin tricks on ya. That is my foot. So as you can see, I got my I Am Number Four, The Gargoyle, Graceling, Wicked Lovely and Banewreaker. I found I Am Number Four in a different bookstore (Periplus! So lovely Jakartanians, if you want I Am Number 4, go to Periplus and not Kinokuniya). The other 4 I got in Kinokuniya. And Mockingjay has been dispatched by Bookdepository, hopefully it will be in my hands very shortly. I found out that Mockingjay is in fact available starting today (or was it yesterday?) in Kinokuniya. I was bummed out when I was informed this, because I could have gotten it now and could have already started reading it. However, I'm sure I got it much cheaper from Bookdepository, (only 60k!), and in the cover that I want (the U.K version). So as long as it'll be here sometime next week, I have no big reason to regret.

Now, faced with many choices (when before I had none), I had a hard time deciding which one to read first. I even held off the temptation to read for a day, trying to decide which one should be first! In the end, I still couldn't decide so I had asked my mum, my sister and my brother to decide for me. Based on cover alone, my sister said Graceling whilst my mum and my brother chose something else. Can you guess which one? After the click, find out which one it is I've started reading.

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore it is! So far the story is okay. Too many blonde characters for my taste; so far only one brunette. Maybe 2. But the premise is good, and I have high hopes for it. Keep checking my blog for the full review. I should be able to finish it in the next couple of days. I need to make time for Mockingjay after all. The others I might read on the plane (holiday soon, amigos!).

The Outsiders

Stay gold, Ponyboy.

A few days ago, my sister and I decided to watch The Outsiders starring Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise and the late Patrick Swayze (and others). It's based on a novel of the same name written by S.E. Hinton. I remember back when I was in year 7, my brother had to read the novel. But he couldn't be bothered so he asked me to read it instead, and I was to tell him the key points. And so I read it, and I remember loving it. Although up until I watched the movie, I couldn't really recall what had happened in the book; only that there were greasers and socs. The movie helped freshen my memory, but most of the stuff in the movie were like, new to me. So yes, I had completely forgotten the events of the book. Haha. Oh, I loved the movie as well!

I loved all of the Greasers; Ponyboy, Dallas, Two-Bit, Darrel, Sodapop... Johnny, not so much, but he almost made me cry when he wrote to Ponyboy, telling him to stay gold! Ah, it broke my heart. Sure, the movie didn't contain much; it seemed very quick and before you know it, it's over. But I loved the simplicity and the naivete of it. It wasn't as deep as it could have been, but the poem really got me. And Ponyboy read Gone With the Wind to Johnny! If that didn't have me sold, I don't know what would. For those who have seen the movie, don't you think that Cherry Valance (played Diana Lane) had looked identical to Mandy Moore? It was like watching A Walk to Remember!

Give it a go guys. You might just like it. :)

YA Couple Alert!

Alex Pettyfer is Number 4!

Now this news just hit me out of the blue. I have been wanting to read I Am Number 4 by James Frey. A Young Adult book of course, I've really been munching them lately. I came across the book sometime ago on Goodreads, read the reviews, was interested but have never really researched it (because there are currently so many books in my to-be-read pile!). You can imagine how shocked I was to find out today that book is already being made into a movie. And that Alex Pettyfer is playing the role of Number 4! And that he's dating his co-star Dianna Agron! 3 incredible news slapping me on the face!

Alex Pettyfer. Alex, alex, alex. He is like the guy for YA books. I'm not kidding. Surf youtube and you'll know what I mean. He also has Beastly coming up, another YA book I have yet to read. Lots of people had used him for Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instruments series (I went with Mitch Hewer), and lots of people are currently using him for Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games series. I haven't used him for anything, but I totally get his appeal. To me, he has become synonymous with YA books. And well, he definitely has/is, what with Beastly and I Am Number 4 and all.

I love the fact that's dating Dianna Agron because I love her. The pictures of them together that I've seen are very, very cute. I am excited for this movie, for Beastly, and for them. I really hope I can find I Am Number 4 in Kinokuniya tomorrow. Please, please be there!

Alex Pettyfer, you're totally on my radar now.

An anthology of luuurveee stories

I hate to be M.I.A, even for just a little while, now that I'm up and active again. I'm still getting through Anna Karenina, and I haven't got any other books to read as of this moment. So I figure I'll write reviews on books I've read during my time away from this blog. And maybe TV shows, movies, well we'll get to that when we do. Now this next book, My Mistress's Sparrow Is Dead, is a collection of short love stories from a myriad of writers and was edited by Jeffrey Eugenides. We have William Faulkner, Miranda July, Vladimir Nabokov, Guy de Maupassant and so forth. As it is a collection, there are bound to be stories I loved, stories I tolerated and stories I hated. Sadly, most of the stories in this book I tolerated instead of loved. And thus I have not given it a full-heart rating.

There are over 20 short stories in this collection. Here are the names of the stories I loved;

First Love and Other Sorrows by Harold Brodkey.
A Rose For Emily by William Faulkner.
The Hitchhiking Game by Milan Kundera.
Mouche by Guy de Maupassant.
Something That Needs Nothing by Miranda July.

Not much out of that 20+ aiye? You must first understand that this anthology of love is not really about love. Let me borrow Eugenides' words;

"When it comes to love, there are a million theories to explain it. But when it comes to love stories, things are simpler. A love story can never be about full possession. The happy marriage, the requited love, the desire that never dims - these are lucky eventualities but they aren't love stories. Love stories depend on disappointment, on unequal births and feuding families, on matrimonial boredom and at least one cold heart. Love stories, nearly without exception, give love a bad name."

Usually, I love these kind of stories. I'm not always for the happy endings, actually most of the time I'm not. But the stories in this anthology either went above my head and I didn't understand it, or I just simply didn't like it. But the ones I loved, I loved completely. My ultimate favourite is probably Mouche. I wouldn't tell anyone not to read this because I believe there is something for everyone in this collection. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. But hey, I found 5 stories that I loved. I dare you to find more.

Thesis Approved!

Thinking of switching to non-thesis, crazy idea?

I'm on my holidays. However, today I had to go to campus for a thesis briefing (ah the stress that is the last academic year of university!) I don't have the jitters. Yet. I know I will soon. They threw a lot of information at us kids today and posted the approved thesis topics as well as the names of our respective thesis advisors. My approved topic is; "The Effect of Female Protagonists in Young Adult Fiction as Role Models for Teenage Girls." It just screams me, doesn't it? Will it be difficult, you think?

Look at me there in class, hardcore studying. Haha. Anyway, I was thinking of switching to a non-thesis. There's a possibility that I may intern at a Production House, and they specialize in making TVCs. For my non-thesis, I can make exactly that, and I was thinking, well, why not? I'll be getting first hand experience of it anyway? (IF, I get the internship, which brings me to my stressful situation of not being employed as of yet). With the non-thesis, there's a possibility of an epic failure. Should I take the risk? If it works well, however, it'll be soooo goood. So, help?

Update on Anna Karenina (spoilery, so avert your eyes if you plan to read it!); Levin is getting married to Kitty, at last! They're so endearing! And Vronksy just went abroad with Anna, with her refusing her husband's divorce! Man, she's crazy. But I really do understand where she's coming from. A difficult situation, it is. I get her aversion to her husband, and her feeling not deserving of his generosity, but does she not have a shred of sympathy for him? I understand, back then, well, I can imagine it's very hard to be in her position. But she's so selfish, it's mean.

Yes, I'm enjoying this book. Surprisingly a great amount.

The Mortal Instruments Music

The Flavour of Jace Wayland

Back when I was obsessed with The Mortal Instruments trilogy, I made an album cover art along with a tracklist of songs I thought suited the feelings of our broody Jace Wayland. I still like this fake album of mine, but the books, in retrospect were just....meh. Seems like I'm a pretty impulsive person; I get too excited after reading a book. Don't get me wrong, I love the world Cassandra Clare has created but the dialogues in the trilogy were just really...... And they killed off......! Really now. And don't get me started on Clary! An epic fail of a character (Bella > Clary, OMG right?). Actually, all of the characters in the trilogy were off. Which makes me wonder why I liked the books in the first place. Well it definitely had its turns, plot-wise. It had teenage angst. Good, good. And during that time, I had madddd love for Jace Wayland. So, must give credit where credit's due. I'm going off tangent here. Fake album, yes. Here's the cover and tracklist;

As you can see, I used Mitch Hewer (Maxxie! From Skins Generation 1) as Jace Wayland. Perfection by the by. Go give the songs a listen and tell me whether you think it suits Jace. I still have this album on my ipod, and it was ages ago since I read the books.

The best book of the trilogy was City of Ashes, imho; all the good angst was stored and showcased there.

The Last Vhalgenn

My last audiobook

From the get go, I didn't like it. I wanted to; it had the potential to be so good. The short story tells the tale of the last Vhalgenn, loyal companion to the King; a sister, a lover, a friend. Returning after the jealous Queen's banishment of her, Raik came back only to find herself partaking in the dying Queen's last request; take the newly born heir away from the Kingdom, to save his life.

Sounds pretty good right? Not so. Not so at all.

Now I've got to give Kayelle Allen credit; the concept is not half-bad. I'm a sucker for these kind of stories, usually. Bittersweet, anguish... all that jazz. And I suppose this story had all that. I may have liked it a bit if not for the awful, awful, AWFUL voice narration of the audio-book. In retrospect, Lesley Livingston, was spectacular with her Wondrous Strange. I shouldn't have given her such a hard time. I'm just not an audio-book person. But seriously, I may have slightly liked this book if I have read it. The woman who narrated this book was horrible; the same intonation in everything. Most of the time, I couldn't tell which character were speaking. Oh Lesley Livingston, pardon my harsh critiscism of you! I take it back, I take it all back.

A Southern Vampire Marriage

A True Blood Wedding. Perfection.

I have a major soft spot for the cast of True Blood. I was out of the loop of this awesome series for a very a long time. And then on one fateful day, I picked up Dead Until Dark. I was hooked. After that, I just had to watch the series. And it is as awesome as they say it is. Unfortunately, for me the book peaked at Dead Until Dark. Dead and Gone was good too, but the books in between and the book after was... in retrospect, a big downer. I'm sticking to the show now.

Anyway, even though on the show and in the books our dear Sookie and Bill have not tied the knot, they have done so in real life this last Saturday!

Not a big fan of her hair do though. Nonetheless, I'm sure it was a magical night for Anna and Stephen. I'm geeking out. I love True Blood, and I love Anna and Stephen (and Mr. Northman, where is he?).

Wondrous Strange and Katy Perry

Extraterrestrial

Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston was my first audio-book. I still have complicated feelings on it; on the audi0-book, not the story itself. During the first half of the audio-book, I was bored. The story did nothing for me, and added with the narration (I believe it was Livingston herself!), I almost hated the whole feel of it. Wondrous Strange is not a book I would have picked up on my own. My foray into YA has mostly been for vampires and werewolves (I'm tired of them now), and Wondrous Strange is about fairies. On top of that, the book cover is ghastly! I know, I know, don't judge a book by its cover and yadayadayada, but Wondrous Strange's cover and other covers like it, well... not my thing, at all.

So, I didn't know what to expect. I only continued to listen to the audio-book because I don't like not completing things. So thus, I pushed through. And then, I don't know what happened, but I suddenly fell in love with the story! And by default, I fell in love with the world of fairies!

Yes, this book deserved a full heart from me! It's not 5 stars (the first half of the book was really, really slow), but the climax, and the ending, and how the love story turned out at the end, made me give it a 4 (and still a full heart!). I really didn't expect this. The annoying voice of the narration really outdid itself in the second half of the book. Lesley Livingston really set the mood with her voice. She really does know how to create suspense and emotion. The story wrapped itself very, very nicely. Now I'm crazy for fairies. Job well done, I say.

Well, immediately after I finished the audio-book, E.T by Katy Perry came up in my ipod shuffle. And I was struck at how suitable it was for the relationship between Kelley (the female protagonist) and Sonny (the love interest). I mean, it's not suitable word for word; Katy Perry's E.T is like about aliens and sci-fi whilst Wondrous Strange is paranormal. BUT, the general feel of the song and well, the lyrics too (for me anyway), kinda spoke for Kelley and Sonny. Here, have a listen:

Now I'm obsessed with fairies. If things work out according to plan, tomorrow I will be book hunting for Wicked Lovely (another fairy series), and if I'm super lucky, I'll find the sequel to Wondrous Strange, Dark Light. Oh, I'm also looking for Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L Wilson. So if you're in Jakarta, and you see it, well be sure to let me know!

Oh and the verdict on audio-books? Not my thing. I'll listen to them if books I normally don't get is available for free, but if not, I won't spend money on them, and I rather get the book than the audio. I do believe that I would have liked Wondrous Strange so much more if I had read it.

The Hunger Games Series

So far, we love!

Every faithful YA reader will definitely know many things about the Hunger Games series; Mockingjay - nigh upon us, a movie based on book 1 to be released next year, Katniss Everdeen, Peeta or Gale? and so forth. It is a trilogy; the last one to be released in just a few days! Will it be as awesome as the first two? *Fingerscrossed*

People might wonder why I've chosen these covers to be featured instead of the other more popular ones (you know, the one with the mockingjay pins?). The answer is simple. These are the ones available to me. You notice the hearts? Yes, I loved them both. The books were gripping from the get go, and it took a lot of willpower to put the books down to eat, sleep, shower... you get the picture.

I have to say though, as good as the two of them were, the first one, The Hunger Games, is the better book. No lulls. It was action-packed, suspenseful, romantic. It was a great ride. Those of you who have read the second one, Catching Fire, will understand when I say that the story was rather repetitive. Sure, it was with totally different variables... but it wasn't that original. And you would think Gale would be featured more. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the book. Far from it. It just could have been better. Didn't stop me from loving it though. I think YA readers would love it too, and go completely nuts for it (as I did).

Oh and for those who don't know what in the world the Hunger Games is/are, here's what you need to know;

North America has been divided into 12 Districts, with Capitol as the central government.
Each year, a boy and a girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district, (randomly chosen) must compete and fight till death in the annual Hunger Games, televised for everyone to see (gory details and all)
16 year old Katniss Everdeen volunteered to take her sister's place in the games.
Epicness ensues.

A Random Idea

Well, not really random.

I think everyone is very much aware that I'm a total and complete bookworm. And during this summer break (I would say it's summer in Jakarta right now), I've been very in tune with this particular trait of mine. I've recently joined Goodreads and it has been amazing. I love being part of a book community; it's so refreshing to find people with the same interests as me. So this got me thinking, should I turn my blog into a book blog? I'm obviously more passionate about books than Hollywood. Or should I leave it as it is? A blog with a touch of everything? Books, movies, A-list celebs, music? Maybe still that, but leaning more towards books? Ah I don't know. I guess we'll just see as time goes on. I hope to be more active now that I have more free time at my disposal.

Well how is everyone? How are my almost non-existent readers? haha. Book reviews coming up lovelies :)

Praise the heavens! Seriously everyone, do it! Ever since news have been circling around regarding the awesome movie that I'm sure this movie would be, some crazy casting nominees have surfaced on the internet. I was frustrated when it seemed like Brad Pitt would play the role of the great journalist, Blomkvist, but alas, that is not so! Daniel Craig, sexy sexy Daniel Craig, has signed on to play this role not only for the first movie, but for all three! And yes, this is awesome!

We can also breathe now that we know Kristen Stewart nor Anne Hathaway (or any of the early casting names that we have heard about), will be playing the great Lisbeth Salander. Rumours have it, K.Stew wont playing this role due to scheduling conflicts with Breaking Dawn. HA! For me, that's just downright ironic. No actress has been casted yet for this life-changing role, but I'm optimistic. They might just get it right, these Hollywood people.

Resident hottie, Nic Hoult, went to the slums of Nairobi for Christian Aid Week. I've never heard of this fundraiser before, but kudos to my Nic for taking the time to do this. He saw first hand how Christian Aid Week is making a difference in the lives of the people living in the slums.

It's always nice to see celebrities involving themselves in noble acts such as this one. If I understand correctly, Hoult travelled to several districts, met many people and familiarize himself with the upsetting situation. I love him even more for doing this (if that is even possible). It's important for celebrities to understand that they can do a lot to create awareness for issues such as this. And Nic Hoult is only one name in a long list of names who have used his status to do some good. Kudos to them all. And OMG, isn't he just yummy? Look at the second picture for goodness sake! Really, Iron Man 2?

A total flop in Rachel's eyes.

Ah. How to say this? I hated Iron Man 2. It was slow, not funny, and lacked action. While I agree that movies shouldn't depend on action and effects alone, I really felt that Iron Man 2 lacked these, amongst many other things. The first Iron Man movie was by far, the superior one. And was I the only one who thought that Black Widow was going to be a villain? Well the fact that she was not was quite a revelation.

The only thing I liked (and even this, not so much), was the promise for The Avengers. And that is only because my man, Edward Norton (you know, Hulk?), will be in it (he better be!). The Captain America shield was cute, but I guess, that's about it. I'm not really a comic book junkie so I don't know my mythos well, so apparently, there were many references in the movie that I didn't notice. Seriously, this movie was a let down. Not long into the movie, I was already thinking about something else. My interest was lost. Not even Robert Downey Jr. could save it for me. And he's quite delicious too.

Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist

I know I have been practically M.I.A for like, forever. Rest assured I have not been resting on my laurels! I've actually gotten a lot of reading done. The one that I want to feature on my blog is the Millenium Trilogy by the late Stieg Larsson. It consists of three separate novels; The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.

I loved all three of them! They were all consistently good. If I had to choose my favourite out of three, I wouldn't be able to pick one. Each of them is special in their own way. I normally don't like books that touch on politics, but these three are an exception. I've got my hands on the Swedish movie of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo but I haven't had the chance to watch it. All three books have been made into movies and I heard that they were quite satisfactory. I've also recently heard that Hollywood will be re-making them. I don't mind, as long as they get the casting right. Please, not Brad Pitt for Blomkvist! And not Kristen Stewart or Anne Hathaway for Salander! I vote for Carey Mulligan, please!

Anyway, if you have the chance to read them, I think you should. They really were page-turners. I slept at like 5 am everyday reading them (during examination week too!). For my first foray into Crime fiction, I must say I'm impressed. You would be too.

When I was doing my daily portion of browsing the other day, I came across the poster for the documentary titled, Babies. I've never heard anything about it before, but my sister told me that the trailer is to die for. So I went and searched for it in youtube, and yes, it changed my life.

So I used to be a huge fan of Hilary Duff and Joel Madden, right? And I hated the fact that after they broke up, he was suddenly with Nicole Richie. But now, many years later (it seems it's been forever), I really like Joel and Nicole. And what's more, they have the cutest daughter (yes, cuter than Suri!).

Oh my goodness! How adorable was this video clip?! Zooey Deschanel is great in almost everything that she does (remember The Happening? Shit, shit, shit movie). The dancing was great, the song was great, the concept was great, her outfit was great... everything was AWESOME! I seriously want to steal her wardrobe. I love her look. I really, really, really can't wait for Volume 2 to come out. I've also heard their other song, Thieves, and fell in love with it completely too. For those of you still into the franchise

Oh my, how time flies! The first full trailer for the much-anticipated The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has been released! Seriously, it really doesn't seem long ago that I showed the New Moon trailer to my mum. Kayanya dvd bajakan New Moon juga belum bagus yah? hahahaha. But alas, here it is!

Am I the only one who thinks that Edward Cullen gets uglier in each movie? Is it because Cathrine Hardwicke is no longer directing? I contend that the first Twilight movie was the best, (in terms of books also), and I do so hope that Eclipse wouldn't be cringy to watch like New Moon sort of was. Though the character, Victoria, who was initially portrayed by Rachelle Lefreve, has been replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard (seriously, this is a dude's name), I don't think this change will have any effect on anything. They looked freaking the same. The trailer for me was just, meh, I really do hate Kristen Stewart's bad hair wig. Let's hope the movie will be good. Oh goodness, I'm not really looking forward to line up for the tickets along side teenager twicrazies. Maybe I'll wait till the craziness has died down. Two weeks after it's initial release it is!

Super Mum Angelina Jolie Takes Her Kiddies to a Birthday Party

As much as I dislike this woman (tone down the gasps people), I must say she is one super woman. I applaud all her charity work and her being an awesome mother to her children. I still can't bring myself to like her though, despite all these great achievements. When I heard the erroneous news that she and Brad Pitt were splitting up and that Pitt wanted to reunite with Jennifer Aniston, I swear to you, I squealed in delight. This delight is irrational, I know. Crazy, in fact (what with them being parents to so many kids), but I'm sorry to say that I don't root for them. I love them kids, but I don't love the parents. The Better Vampire Story

Nina Nina, Ian Ian!

I can't recall whether I have ever posted anything about the CW's new TV show, the Vampire Diaries... it's high time that I should anyways. For those of you who don't want the show, I reckon you should, especially if you're crazy about the vampire stuff. The plot is good, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder are super, super hot vamps (not mentioning all the other hot dudes in the show), and even though people complain about Nina Dobrev as the lead female character, I think she suffices. So what's the purpose of this post? Read on and find out!

I've noticed from following Dobrev's and Somerhalder's twitters that the two are very, very chummy. I told my sister that I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere along their vampire trip, they'll hook up and make headlines. My sister countered that Nina already has a boyfriend. Does she, don't she, doesn't matter. What matters is that they are chummy, Ian and Nina. Apparently during PaleyFest, they were handsy and playful and all that jazz. I wonder how my dear Paul Wesley faired?

I don't know how I'd feel if the two actually hooked up in real life. Indifference, probably. LOL. They can do whatever they want, as long as their relationship don't ruin the show like Sophia Bush's and Chad Michael Murray's did to One Tree Hill (BRUCAS!). People hate on Nina a lot (my mother and sister included), but she seems really nice and down-to-earth on twitter so she's fine in my books. Let's be thankful she ain't wack like Amanda Bynes. Seriously.

Getting the Mash-Up Treatment

I think it is safe to assume that everybody on the planet have seen the movie, Avatar. While I associate bad memories with that movie (I dehydrated during the movie, had a tremendeous headache, made my boyf. go out for 5 minutes to buy me hot dog and a bottle of water), I understand that many people loved it and I guess that devotion is well deserved. The colours were lovely, the story was alright, and I fell in love with the blue man. Ha ha. The movie really turned me off of watching movies in 3D though. Bad memories indeed. Woman, Whip It!

Ever since I've seen the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are, I have been excited. My sister was too, and she only gets excited for great movies. To top it all off, it reminded her of our childhood in Australia; back in grade 1 or 2, one of her teachers had read her the book, and it was an awesome book. So, suffice to say, we were both very excited. And then a few nights ago, we watched it.. and man, what a complete downer.

I don't get it. I just don't get it. My sister and I had guesses throughout the movie as to what the movie was about, and yeah, we came close, but I still don't get it. It was boring, hardly even cutesy. And what's up with the girl wild things? They were horrifying! It's really hard for me to believe that this was a movie for children, because my gosh, I swear no kid will like it. So yeah, fail.

Now on the other hand, we have Whip It which I watched last night. And I loved it, I loved it, I loved it!

Ellen Page was very likeable in this movie. I liked her so much better here than when she was playing Juno. The story was simple, yes, but I loved the execution. It was very fun and made me laugh numerous times. I daresay, I even enjoyed this better than I did Sherlock Holmes (which was, for me, mediocre). The cinema was almost empty though, because this movie is so under the radar here in Indonesia. But this is me putting Whip It in your radar people. Go watch it. It's really good.

CC Library: The Romance of Tristan and Iseult

My lords, if you would hear a high tale of love and of death, here is that of Tristan and Queen Iseult.

For those of you who don't know, I use a blackberry phone. And I've just recently downloaded an application called Kobo which allows you to read e-books on your phone. For most of them, you have to pay, but I don't really understand how you can purchase it and ya-da ya-da (besides, if I have to pay, I'd rather have the real thing, solid in my hands) so I usually go straight to the free section. One of them is for Harlequin books (eww, right?) and the other is a list of classics, so of course I browse the classic section, because I do love me some classics. There are so many to choose from, and at first I was confused as to which one I should read. And yesterday night before bed, I clicked on them all and read each of their summaries. That was how I came across M. Joseph Bedier's The Romance of Tristan and Iseult. And let me tell you, I was blown away.

The story tells the tragic tale of love between a Cornish Knight, Tristan, and Queen Iseult the Fair. How she had saved him from death. How he slew a dragon to win her hand for his King and uncle, King Mark. How they drank The Philtre, the love potion, the wine of life and death whose effects last a lifetime. How they carried on a relationship full of anguish and agony despite their love for their King...

Epic, I'm telling you. Epic! This story broke my heart, it truly did. It was a nice, short tale (only 52 pages on my phone) and I devoured every word. Now I would do anything to get my hands on a copy of the real book. I want to have it with me, tangible. It's so good. To me, it was more heart-breaking than Romeo and Juliet for some reason, even though I believe the love between Romeo and Juliet was more real and pure. Maybe it was because of the language of the story; it was very beautifully written and translated. Seriously, if anyone comes across it, please let me know. I want to buy it! However readers, don't read this review and think, wow, the movie must be good (you know, Tristan & Isolde, the one starring James Franco?). Because, it ain't. That movie, for me, was horrible! It didn't do the tale any justice. If you want to have a real taste of Tristan & Iseult, pick up the book. You won't regret it.

I love Skins. I do, I truly do. And I have waited such a long time for season 4 to come out. It'll be soon now, and to keep us entertained for the time being, promo pictures have been released in which our favourite characters are photographed in a very colourful way.

I know that I sound all excited on this post, but I have to say that these pictures are kind of underwhelming. Despite that, I'm still excited though. I think they're trying to do the complete opposite from last year's promo pictures; it was dark, grey... and well, not like this at all. This batch kinda look cheap, doesn't it? But it's still a treat to see our favourite characters photographed in this way. I think Katie looks the best, and she happens to be my favourite character believe it or not. Say what you want about her, I reckon she's awesome and just misunderstood. Hmm, Freddy looks druggy, Cook looks weird, Effy is gorgeous, Panda is cute, Emily and Naomi look kinda ergh, Thomas... nothing special, JJ looks fine. I'm more savvy with their character names and I'd rather not make a fool of myself by spelling their real names wrong. LOL. Anyway, if you like Skins, also check out Misfits. It's the new big thing for me.

Lindsay Lohan's 6126: More Than Just Leggings

I don't hate it

All over the web, people have been trash talking Lindsay Lohan's 6126 legging line. And this trash talk has increased in number ever since it is reported that Lindsay will launch a full apparel line. Now I know she has done some questionable things in the past, but I don't think that this decision warrants any negativity. I think the sketches look pretty fine. Here, take a look.

Many people argue that her designs are not fashion-forward or whatever. And yeah, maybe that's true. But these sketches are clothing that I would wear. It's sexy, edgy and well, beautiful. I am sure that my friends would love these too. I think people need to cut Lindsay some slack. This is good work. Don't damper her parade. She's turning her life around, doing some pretty inspiring work too. And I wish her nothing but success. Let's hope her clothing line will be a hit, because I'll be cheering on with her.

The End, the End of the Two Taylors

At this point I'm thinkin' ... something's the matter with Swizzy.

I am way late to blog about this, but incase some of you don't already know, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner have called it quits! And it seemed only just like yesterday that the two of them got together (oh wait, that's true). So say goodbye Taylor(s) fans, alas it has ended.

If you have been routinely reading my blog, you would know that I did not support these two as a couple. It is reported that Lautner was more into her than she was into him, and well, I guess it just didn't work. He jetted all over the place to try and go see her, but she didn't do the same.. or something of that sort. Whatever. You know you would think after hearing this news, I would be happy. But I'm just starting to think that there's something a bit wrong with Taylor Swift. I've warmed up to Lautner recently, coz facts are facts, the dude is super hot. And he's like mega-rich. And he's been predicted (along with my girl, Carey Mulligan), to become a "Top Money Making Star" (and despite his lack of talent IMO), he must have some to warrant this prediction. AND, it seems like he's super sweet. AND, it seems like he's head over heels for her. What more does she want? I know, I know, you can't help who you like. But, really now? Why is it that Taylor Swift's relationships never work out? I love her, but I'm starting to feel that she's overrated.

Can anyone really compare to Rory Gilmore?

Gilmore Girls alumn and current star of the CW's Supernatural, Jared Padalecki, may possibly be getting hitched in a couple of months. All this time I thought he was still going steady with his long-time not-famous girlfriend, but apparently, I was wrong. He has gotten himself engaged to Genevieve Cortese, star of the new series, FlashForward. Say, what?

I had no idea that these two are dating at all. She's only been in my radar for a few months, and pretty unremarkable to say the least. I don't know this couple, I have no opinion about this couple ... but Jared is a Gilmore Girls alumn (and my God, how I love that show!), and thus this news is worth posting. I wish the two of them happiness and joy in their coming nuptials!

I used to be a huge fan of Shia, right? But his movies kinda suck now. And he plays the same character over and over again, and he tackles them in exactly the same way. Show us some variety dude! But Carey, now, after the movie An Education, I have big love for her. She really is a promising actress. She looks so adorable with that pixie haircut. If you have any doubts about her acting prowess, listen to this; she has been predicted to be a "Top Money Making Star," along with Taylor Lautner. Now I don't know about Lautner, but I believe Mulligan can get there. All the best, Carey!

I suppose you think I'm a ruined woman

I have seen An Education on many of people's top 2009 lists and ever since I've seen the trailer, I've been dying to watch it. And a few days ago, I did just that, with my little sister. And we both totally loved it. Two thumbs up for An Education!

This movie is just the kind of picture I like. It made me laugh, made me think ... it really is something. Not only is the story compelling, it is also set in a pre-The Beatles London, after the war... and the scenery, the clothes, the music, they are all so very lovely. Acclaimed writer, Nick Hornby, wrote the screenplay for the movie and now I'm interested to purchase several of his books. If An Education is any indication of how his stories are, I am sure that I will love his them. For those of you interested, after the click, check out the movie trailer.

I don't know if you know this, but this movie stars Carey Mulligan (reminds me a lot of Amber Tamblyn in this movie), and I just recently found out that she's dating Shia LaBeouf. Haha. Just a random fact I thought some of you would be interested to know. They've been dating since August 2009 and will be starring in a movie together. I forgot what it's called, but I believe it is a remake. Anywho, go watch An Education. You won't be disappointed.

Goodbye beautiful

Very sad news to pass along today. It has been reported that Brittany Murphy has passed away due to cardiac arrest.

This is very, very sad. She's so young, only 32 years old. I may not be a fan of hers, but I liked her. Her voice was beautiful in Happy Feet and she really was entertaining in Love and Other Disasters. This news is totally a shocker. I was just going through my twitter timeline when I saw this on the trending topics, and I was like... WTF. I didn't believe it at first, but after browsing the net, well, I guess this is true.

The movie, Valentine's Day, which stars many, many, many Hollywood actors and actresses, has released its awesome poster and trailer! Can I just tell you how excited I am for it? Let's pray and hope that it will be released on Valentine's Day here in Indonesia, coz with Indonesia, you never know. It may be released in June instead. Anyway, here, check out the poster!

I wonder whether any of you watch The Big Bang Theory? Anyone? Anywho, IMO The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest sitcoms around these days. It is so fun to watch. I really like all the casts' chemistry on and off screen.

I wonder whether any of you caught the trinity live during the emmys? They were all so cute together and all the interviews that I've seen of them have only strengthened this believe. It seems like that they're really comfortable around one another, they have a lot of fun and they totally deliver. How can you not love these pictures? Super Super Super Good Day!

For as long as I can remember, everytime I went into a bookshop, my eyes have always went to The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. I don't know why, but even so, I've never bought it. I look at it, and I think to myself, oh wow, what a cute cover, but I always end up picking something else. I guess I didn't know just what I was missing because it turns out, the book is incredible. About a week ago (I think), my sister's friend came over and lent us that very book. She said it was very good, so I thought I'd give it a go (at the time, I just finished Sea Monsters, and had nothing else to read). And from the moment I read the first page, I was hooked!

The novel is about an autistic kid named Christopher Boone and it tells the story of how he leads his life. It begins with the murder of a neighbour's dog named Wellington, and Christopher sets out to find out who the killer is. It is a must-read, I'm telling you. I loved every part of it; it was sweet, funny and touching. The book is quite thin too, so for those who are intimidated by big novels, this one isn't, and is really worth your time. It didn't take me long to finish it and I savoured every part of it. I'm thinking of buying a copy for myself. It's THAT good. Five stars.

For those of you who are an avid reader of this blog of mine, you guys probably already know that I don't really like Kristen Stewart that much. And I think I've also mentioned that I probably wont watch her new movie with Dakota Fanning titled, The Runaways. But, I change my mind. The movie's new teaser trailer has just been released, and well, it has grabbed my attention.

In general, I'm not a fan of biopics; they tend to be long and boring. After seeing this trailer though, I must say that I am intrigued. We'll see what I'll do when the movie finally comes out. I probably end up watching it.

Sherlock Holmes Premieres in New York

Sherlock Holmes, starring the funny Robert Downey Jr., the stunning Rachel McAdams and the handsome Jude law had its movie premiere in New York.

It was attended by many celebs including a couple of the Gossip Girl's girls, Twilight's Ashleey Greene (what the frak was she doing there?), Bruce Willis and many more. After the click, check out their pictures.

You may notice that the pictures of Ashley Greene are not posted. I just felt that that the poor girl don't belong there. HA HA HA. I have no love for Alice or Greene, so let's just assume she just got lost and didn't know what the hell she was doing at the premiere, rendering her not worthy of a post. Rachel McAdams looks drop dead gorgeous and so does Blake Lively (just look at her super, hot, hot, hot dress!). I don't know what was going on with Jessica Szhor because she looks like an old witch. Eva Mendez is just meh, nothing remarkable. Pete Wentz is Pete Wentz. Bruce Willis looks really skinny that even his bald head looks deformed. We can't really see Guy Ritchie's face, but we know he's hot. And Rocco is such a cutie. I think he's going to be one handsome lad.

SEE-SEE TV: A Beautiful Life

Remember how after two episodes, Ashton Kutcher's The Beautiful Life got axed by the CW? I was saddened, at first, but now, I don't really care. But for those who are still saddened by the departure of this show, there is good news for you! The remaining episodes will be available on youtube!

The sanity of these two actresses can be compared from watching these two videos. Barton looks crazy, Paxton looks normal. Don't you agree? I love Sara Paxton and I hope she gets a new TV show soon. Anyway, for those people who are interested, you can find episodes of TBL on youtube. I don't think I'll be watching it though; I mean the show is cancelled anyway. Besides, I have many TV shows that I need to catch up on and I watch so many already as it is. Why waste my time on TBL? I'm already over it. I can dimly recall how I was angry at the CW for cancelling it, and that it was better than The Vampire Diaries. But boy, I was wrong. TBL, not so good. The Vampire Diaries is freaking awesome. Life Pieces

and once again, my life.

I know, I know. There was yet again, another long absence from my front. I think all of you are tired of hearing, "Uni, assignments, drama.." etc.etc. but... it doesn't change it from being true because those are the again the reasons why I haven't been as active as I'm supposed to be. And to top it all off, my left foot was bitten by an insect, or animal, or whatever, and now it's swollen, like real badly. I've been walking around campus like a cripple! And it iches, and everytime I scratch, I can't stop. And after it itches, it hurts. So yeah, it hasn't been a good week for me. But I am now on a 2 week holiday, which I will be spending mostly at home, recuperating. So I should be updating more often, happy news, right? SO COMMENT PLEASE! So I know who's reading. It's really vital for my marks, so please help a girl out.

On a much better note, it's almost Christmas! HOORAY! Christmas is my favourite holiday of the year. There are many blinking lights, rain, cloudy days, presents, Secret Santa, cookies, cupcakes ... and the list goes on! I love it, I love it!

With decorations like these at home, how can I not be excited for it? :D All in all, the fact that it's almost Christmas was the highlight of my week. Cheers, everyone!

CC Library: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters

K'yaloh D'argesh F'ah! K'yaloh D'argesh F'ah!

Guess what? I finally had time to finish Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Jane Austen and Ben H. Winters! While this quirky classic is not as good as its predecessor, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, it was still enjoyable and it reminded me of how much I loved the original classic.

I must admit, the beginning of the novel didn't really grab me that much; I thought it was a little bit over the top, trying a bit too hard ... and so forth. It mde me wonder why I liked Sense and Sensibility so much compared to Pride and Prejudice (coz I totally loved Zombies!), but then as I read along, I started to remember the reason why. I still believe whole-heartedly that the love story/ies in Sense and Sensibility/and Sea Monsters, is much more believable than the ones in Pride and Prejudice/Zombies (though Zombies made me feel it more than in the original classic). So, I won't recommend this book to everyone, but I do recommend it to those people who enjoyed Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, coz if you love quirky, well... you'll love this quirky novel.

Coz she's part Chindo and is Lana Lang!

Kristin Kreuk a.k.a Lana Lang from Smallville. Gorgeous and has OK talent. Haha. I've always thought that she was beautiful and this opinion has not deteriorated as I watched Smallville after Smallville episodes. I've stopped though, because there was this season, I don't know which, that was sooooo bad, it made me lost my faith in it (it's still better than Heroes though, I've stopped watching Heroes aeons ago, that show is wack beyond reason). My sister said the current season is pretty good though, not as good as the previous season (the one with Doomsday! I heard that was epic!), but it's still watchable, again, unlike Heroes. Kristin Kreuk is not in Smallville anymore, but I can't think of Kreuk without thinking of Lana Lang. And thus, the whole Smallville reference. Moving on, Kristin Kreuk attended the Whistler Film Festival - Araxi VIP Party on Saturday night, where she still looks stunning post her Smallville days.

I think everyone in Indonesia (well not everyone, but most people I know), knows that Kristin Kreuk is half Chinese-Indonesian, which is what I am! I mean, I'm full, she's half. HAHA. And I reckon that that's just heaps cool, that she probably has relatives here but she's all famous over there. I love trivia facts like this. It's awesome.

Leighton Meester at KIIS FM Jingle Ball 2009

Toning down her look. Yay!

As you are all aware, Leighton Meester has embarked on a successful music career,much to the chagrin of her co-star, Taylor Momsen. I love the style and sound of her music, but I've made it clear that I did not like the look and image that she was going for. Remember her music video for Somebody To Love? It was, EWW. And afterwards, she still dressed kinda horribly. However, I'm happy to say that this was not the case for her appearance at this year's KIIS FM Jingle Ball. She was perfection!

That dress that she's wearing on the red carpet is gorgeous! It compliments her body nicely. I may have to hunt for a look-a-like soon. I need a new Christmas attire afterall. I don't know whether you know, but I really love JoJo's music. Her first album was nice, her second one was even better and now I'm eagerly waiting for her third one. I've heard a few songs off her third album, All I Want Is Everything, and I'm happy to report that I love them. I think that the album was supposed to already be released, but because of some dispute with her music label, it was postponed?

Is Kristen Stewart as big of a bitch as she seems?
The first week, it was kind of awkward. I felt like I had gotten to know her a little. But we were sitting together at lunch one day, just talking, and I said “Hey Kristen, how is filming going?” She blew up at me. “Preston! Don’t ask me how filming is going! I hate when people ask me that!” I got upset. Like, ‘oh sorry you’re the fucking star of the movie Kristen, my bad for asking you how it was going.’

Yeah, it's not really much, but at least it's something. I loved the first Iron Man, it was such a surprise how good it was. I'm hoping the second one will be just as good, if not better. In the third (I'm also hoping final) installment of the whole Twilight movie franchise, the werewolf pack will have new members joining their ranks. If I recall correctly, there'll be two additions; Seth and Lea Clearwater (yes, Lea is a chick). Anyway, when browsing, I came across the actor who will be playing Seth in Eclipse. His name is Booboo Stewart and here is a slight tease of the lad.

Err, yeah he has much effeminate features; I feel like I'm looking at a girl. BUT, this is not the reason why to me, he is post-worthy. After the click, find out why I deemed him worthy to appear on my blog! Go on, click away.

K.Stew In Meet the Rileys

Amidst all the Twilight hooplah, we forget that Kristen Stewart actually has talent. I remember the days when she was praised for her acting, not condemned. I'm personally not a fan of her; I really hate it when she does press for Twilight-stuff related (get off your high-horse, girl!). But when I saw these pictures of Stewart as a prostitute in the movie, Meet the Rileys or Welcome to the Rileys, I must admit, I'm intrigued to see it.

The movie tells the story of a married couple whose marriage is deteriorating after losing their daughter 8 years ago. Doug (James Gandolfini), the husband, escapes by having an affair with a prostitute, whilst Lois (Melissa Leo), the wife, never leaves her home and feels much guilt for the death of their daughter. On a business trip, Doug finds himself in a strip club where he was offered a private dance by an underage prostitute, Mallory (Kristen Stewart). He turns it down and accompanies her home instead where he offered her $100 everyday for letting him stay there. Mallory accepts and together they started an unusual relationship of domesticity. Lois later gathers the courage to go outside to try save her marriage. She was initially shocked when she found the arrangement between her husband and the young prostitute, but soon warms up to Mallory due to her resemblance to her dead daughter. The three become an unusual family.

I don't know when the release date for this movie is, but I understand that the movie has already completed its filming. From the synopsis, it sounds interesting, yes? It'll be nice to see Stewart playing someone other than Bella (I really can't stand her screams, can you?). Let's wait and find out whether her dead eyes stems from her disability to relate to Bella, and not a permanent fixture of her acting.

She and Him Volume 2 On it's Way!

As what I can only consider as awesome, awesome, AWESOME news, information about She & Him's second album has made its way into the internet. Their first album, Volume One, was named the best album of 2008 by Paste, and I couldn't agree more. It was such a good record; I loved all the songs! And it's very rare for me to like all the songs in an album, so man, She & Him rocks!

"I think that the dark shades that were on the last record are maybe a little bit darker on the new record, and the brighter shades on the last record are a little bit brighter on the new record," Ward tells Paste.

It mentions that there is no definite date for Volume 2's release, but it would most likely be sometime in the spring of next year (In America, that's soon right?). Errors Spotted on The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Chillax, every movie has 'em

The Twilight Saga: New Moon isn't perfect, as most of you are probably already aware. Some hate it, some love it but me? I'm somewhere in the middle. It's cheesy, yes, but I can tolerate cheesy. There was much talking, well so was the book. Kristen Stewart was awful; she always is as Bella. Edward was soooo white; so were the other vamps. Victoria was AWESOME; her shots in the forest was probably the best thing out of the whole movie. And Jacob, well Jacob, he was uber hot. Even though I didn't love the movie, there are plenty who did. Here in Indonesia, for example, getting the tickets was really hard, it was ridiculous. The line twists and turns all the way to be back. Crazy, crazy, crazy. I even had to watch it in a sort of crappy cinema (wait, it WAS crappy. The sound died off twice for like... 5 freaking minutes. That's a long time, peeps. A long time). Even though the movie is obtaining much love, many fans have spotted errors in the movie. Man, when will the Twi-hards ever be satisfied?

Errors spotted by fans:

In the montage scenes where we see Bella's depression, when the camera is circling her, the camera man is shown in the mirror (twice) behind her.
The rims of the vampires contacts can be spotted occasionally during the film, especially the Volturi's during the ending scenes — e.g., Jane's in the elevator.
Continuity: When Alice jumps over the staircase in school to wish Bella happy birthday, between shots during the scene the positioning of the decorated scarf around her neck varies.
Visible crew/equipment: In the very last scene, right before the ultimatum, if you look into the tail lights on Edward's car you can see various members of the crew reflected.

Maybe I was too busy getting pissed at the workers for such negligence. But anyway, I don't really care. Every movie has mistakes. It can't be perfect. I'll try to spot them, yes, when I watch it again on DVD. But I'm not counting.

Beef On The Set of GG: Momsen VS Meester!

So we will begin today's stream of posts with news about Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen. Why? I don't know, they struck my fancy all the time. I hope you are all aware that Momsen a.k.a Little J has her own band called The Reckless? They toured with The Veronicas earlier this year if I'm not mistaken. Apparently, Momsen is very jealous of Meester's sudden rise to fame as a singer causing a lot of tension to be had on the set of Gossip Girl. Eng Ing Eng!

You can read the details of the beef HERE on Hollyscoop.com. This acting out seems a lot like Momsen's character on Gossip Girl, don't you think? Jealous this, jealous that ... must be the ultimate queen-bee. Take a chill pill, Momsen. To be honest, I prefer Meeter's music too. I reckon Momsen tries a little too hard with her image, much like Adam Lambert. BUT, there's a but! The girl is most definitely talented too. I've heard some live recordings of her music, and yes, the girl can sing. Probably better than Meester. But it ain't fun like Blair Waldorf! Momsen will rise and shine soon enough, as the say - when they time is right.

Tripp Was Supposed to be Finn?

Woah, I'm trippin'!

This is like, really surprising news for me ... In an interview for Broadway.com with Kathy Henderson, Aaron Tveit (the dude who plays Tripp on Gossip Girl, yeah I didn't know his name either prior to this) revealed that he was supposed to play Finn on Glee! WOAH-OH!

You auditioned for the role of Lea Michele’s boyfriend?
Yeah, for Finn. I had a great audition, and they wanted me to screen-test. When you screen-test for a pilot, you negotiate your contract right there, which could possibly be the next seven years of your life. But at that point, even though I saw the potential that Glee was going to be a huge hit, I couldn’t walk away from Catch Me If You Can or Next to Normal.

Seeing these two pictures together, I must say that they do kind of bear a resemblance. But for the life of me, I can't imagine Tveit playing Cory Monteith's role! I love him so MUCH on And doesn't Tripp kinda look much older? I don't know their respective actual ages, but... Monteith look so much younger, more fresh and more naive... the good things that make up Finn :D. I hate Tripp on Gossip Girl fyi. Do you think he regretted giving this role away? Glee, is like.. so awesome. HA HA.

Miley Cyrus & Timbaland: We Belong to Music

As much as I hate to admit it, I really like it

There are many things that I hate about Miley Cyrus. To name one, I've lost even more respect for her, if that's even possible, when she dissed Twilight (not that I'm a rabid fan or anything, but I really hated her guts when she spoke about it). It's not about the fact that she hates Twilight (I doubt she really does, anyway), it's the fact that she can't take the fact that there are things that are bigger and more popular than she is. She speaks like she's so mature and that she knows everything. Heavens, I wanted to slap her face silly when I saw her interview where she stated that Twilight is a cult; her tone, her face, her attitude.. ARGH! But one thing I can't hate from her is her music. Yeah I know, hit me now.

Last month, we heard that Timbaland will have Miley Cyrus feature on one of his songs, and today after the click, we get to hear it. It's called We Belong to Music.

I'm sorry, but it's so catchy! I really can't help it. I'm drawn to these kind of fun music; the type that you can dance and jump around to in your bedroom. When she starts putting out horrible, techno music, that'll be day when there will no more be Miley Cyrus posts on Clickcliqueonline.< Till then, bear with me guys.

It's been years since Veronica Mars got cancelled and was taken off the air (screw you, CW! screw you!), but Kristen Bell is still looking hot and all kinds of awesome. She's featured on the new issue of Viva magazine.

To be honest, I'm not really feeling the cover photo, but after the click, there are more and better K-Bell goodness to be had.

I really like the popcorn photo, which one is your favourite? I really do miss Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars, and I'm really looking forward to her new movie, When In Rome. But I really wish that they would do a Veronica Mars movie. She's all up for it, she says so via her twitter. It's the execs and stuff that are not giving the go. UGH. A Peek at Disney's The Princess and the Frog

5 minutes of it, at least

Remember the good ol' days with Disney's 2D Princesses cartoons? It made your heart feel warm and fuzzy inside and it literally, made you happy (it did me, anyway!). I have always been such a fan of these classics (Aurora and Belle being my favourite), and I'm tellling you, I really can't wait for the release of the first black princess in The Princess and the Frog!

My sister and I have expressed our astonishment over the fact that Disney did an Asian princess first before a black one (hello, Mulan!), we both think it's about time. I swear, when this movie gets released here in Indonesia (I'm so ever hoping it would, I want to watch it on the big screen), I'm dragging my boyfriend to the premiere showing of it! After the click, check out the first 5 minutes of this heart-warming goodness!

From the looks of it, I think I will be crying ... in the first bits of the movie. I can just feel something go wrong with her family; maybe she'll be adopted into the blonde princess' family? I really don't know the actual storyline of this fairytale apart from the fact that she'll need to kiss a frog. But I'm excited! Aren't you? Back, back, back!

How's everyone?! Woah, it has been a while hasn't it? I'm telling you, my life has been pretty hectic up to date! After I finished my mid exams, I had so much assignments and things to do that I literally had no free time for this awesome blog of mine *inserttearfacehere*. But hopefully, for the time being I can update as quickly as possible; as they say ... gossip waits for no one! LOL.

I had such an eerie dream today during my routine arvo nap; I was in Bali in this great pool of water in the dark ... it was some sort of river I think? And it was really dark (those close to me know about my self-induced phobia of the water, especially in the dark ya'll) and it was scary as hell.

Anyway I woke up to find some chick had jumped off from the fourth floor of Grand Indonesia and fell on the escalator in front of forever21. That's some scary shit. Her body was broken in half, and there was blood everywhere. I'm serius, there are pictures. But I don't want to post them here coz it's just horrible, horrible.

On a MUCH lighter note, I've tried on my monk costume for my class' play, Journey to the West. It's like... extremely awesome. I can't wait for you guys to finally see the finished product. I'm forbidden to post them right now, I will when I'm finally allowed.

Daniel Radcliffe to Guest Star on the Simpsons

I'm loving this news!

I've always been a huge fan of The Simpsons. Sure, I'm waaaaaay behind on the new episodes, seasons even, but trust me, I know my Simpsons shizz. I used to watch it every day in Sydney, not to mention the Sunday Simpsons marathons on FOX that goes on for hours! I love it! The show and the characters are a part of my childhood and they remind me of the good ol' days back in Australia. :'). So moving on, I just found out that Daniel Radcliffe will be lending his voice for one of the episodes! Can I get a woot woot?

In a Twilight spoof that’s part of next fall’s “Treehouse of Horror XXI,” the Harry Potter star plays Edmund, a kid vampire whom Lisa falls for. Alas, Edmund’s father, a.k.a. Dracula, and Homer try to squash the budding romance. “Daniel was very excited to do The Simpsons,” says Jean, “and we kept trying to ask him for secrets from the upcoming Harry Potter movie until we realized that they were all in the books.”

I will be watching this episode no matter what! One of the best things about The Simpsons for me is the Tree House of Horror episodes. And I am beyond stoked for this news! I can't wait to see it! The Simpssssssooooooooooooonssss *cue in music*.

American Eagle Outfitters Times Square Flahip Store Grand Opening Party

Where the pretty people are

So, there was this grand opening, right? Being all the way here in Indonesia, I'm totally out of the loop of American brands. This one sounds familiar though. Anyway, several of the chikas from Gossip Girl attended the grand opening and our favourite, Leighton Meester performed, I'm assuming, her latest single, Somebody To Love.

I don't know how I feel about Leighton Meester's look these days (outside GG, coz in GG she's fabulous). I guess this depicts her personal taste and I can't say I like it. I really love the last picture where we can see Michelle Trachtenberg happily smiling watching her co-star do her thing. See guys, Georgina and Blair are friends! Jessica Szhor didn't really impress me with her look today, neither did Leighton, but I think she looks uber hot in her performance. It looks like she's channeling Summer played by Zooey Deschanel from 500 Days of Summer (for those who have not seen it, see it immediately!). I think it's the hair; Summer had it done like this during the reality and non-reality party of Tom Hansen.

This reminds me, I need to do a 500 Days of Summer post! Maybe not tonight though.

SEE-SEE TV: Good News and Bad News

Good GG ep, devastating news for Dollhouse!

Those of you who routinely read ClickCliqueOnline already know that Lady GaGa would be making an appearance on one of Gossip Girl's episodes. And this past Monday, she finally did! The episode is titled The Last Day of the Disco Stick, which is a nice homage to one of her songs titled, Love Game.

In this episode, the Gossip Girl crew will deal with the day after a threesome, drug dealing, TISH, a married congressman, a lonely used-to-be fling/best friend and a Snow White satire with Lady GaGa's lyrics. Sounds interesting, no?

Let me tell you up front that this one of Gossip Girl's best episode this season! (Thanks to Blair, of course). The story between Hilary Duff's character, Olivia, Dan and Vanessa is really fun to watch and with Blair added to the mix, it was a masterpiece! I'm happy to report that Serena's story line in this episode is not as awful as it usually is; the triangle between her, Nate and Trip is compelling to watch (for me, anyway). Jenny really needs some good slapping to her face and her screen time in this episode was really a let down. It's kinda cliche and I hate it. Sadly, there's not much of Chuck and he was only really involved in the Jenny story, but I can forgive him that because he's so good most of the other times. Well anyhow, I hope you guys will enjoy this GaGa episode as much as I did when it becomes available for my fellow Indonesian peeps.

I guess after this episode, we'll be saying goodbye to Olivia Burke for a while. She says she'll be back in the Fall. Who knows, she may really be back by then.

Now on to the very, very, VERY bad news. FOX have decided to cancel Josh Whedon's brilliant Dollhouse :'(. This is blasphemy, people. BLASPHEMY!

This show is so good! I understand that Friday nights in America are taboo TV nights and because Dollhouse is exiled to this spot, it didn't really do much good in terms of ratings. Oh but it needs to stay on air! From where will I get my Enver Gjokaj fix? :( Please, another network... pick it up!

Leighton Meester's Somebody To Love Video

Uh-oh, I don't like it

When I first found out that Leighton Meester was going to release an album, I was SO excited. You know what, I still am and I really can't wait for its's release. I loved her voice on Cobra Starship's Good Girls Go Bad, and I loved her in the video clip. I can't say the same for her Somebody To Love though :'(.

I mean, remember her awesome video stills? Looking at those pictures, it made me really hopeful of a brilliant music video. But sadly - no. After the click, check it out for yourselves.

I think she failed in almost everything. Sexy? No. Pretty? No. Concept? No. Everything is a NO! Oh man, I really wanted to love this video clip; I've been waiting for it for soooo long. But this is just trashy. She tried too hard to pull of sexy, but now she looks skanky (Oh no!). Too much hand-to-hair movement, her eerie long nails are fug, her cheap dancing moves are awful, the finger to lip thing is disgusting. Now looking at it, I realize that her make-up is way to heavy and well ... this music video is an epic fail. I love the song, don't get me wrong. I really like Somebody To Love, but I hate, hate, hate the video clip. Robin Thicke made the video bearable to watch till the end, and I guess Leighton looks nice in the white bedroom scene. But apart from those two, everything else is freaking AWFUL. I'm sorry Leighton, but please do better next time. I love you and I'm rooting for you!

Now I'm not sure just how many of you watch Grey's Anatomy. Well for those who don't ... you should. And those who do, meet Leven Ramblin (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Mexie's 'new obstacle.'

This pretty blonde girl(?) will be a relationship obstacle for Lexie and Mark, as the show creator, Shonda Rimes, has said. I'm not exactly sure what sort of obstacle she is going to be; I assumed she would be a new romantic interest? But my sister pointed out that she would be Mark Sloan's daughter, who is around Lexie's age. WTH right? Just exactly how old is McSteamy? Just look at Lexie's dad and compare him to Sloan. What a drastic contrast. Let's compare McSteamy with all the parents in Grey's Anatomy. It doesn't add up, does it?

Rachel McAdams To Be In Spiderman-4?

Ugh, bad idea.

I don't know whether any of you is aware of this, but I have big love for Rachel McAdams. She's gorgeous, a brilliant actress and she dated Ryan Gosling for a while ... thus, my idol. Now I just found out that she may play the role of Felicia Hardy a.k.a The Black Cat, as the girl villain in Spiderman 4.

I have HUGE doubts about the quality of this movie. I have never been a fan of the Spiderman franchise. The acting is mediocre at best, and the storylines have been just ... meh. I have even opted to not go out and see the fourth installment whenever it is released. Oh, McAdams, you can get better roles than this! I mean, I know she'll be great playing anyone, but the Spiderman franchise is so awful. If she turns out to be in this movie though, I'll go out and watch it. Who knows, McAdams may be the one to save it.

Ooh-la! The last time that I heard news about Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel is that the pair have gotten back together. It turns out ... they have not, not really anyway. New reports have surfaced that the two of them are engaging in a 'friends-with-benefits' relationship. Let's not kid ourselves, we know exactly who is benefiting from this scenario.

"Justin was very clear with Jessica that he didn't want to be in a serious relationship with her anymore where he wasn't able to date other people," says the insider. "Jessica took the news very hard, but once she calmed down and they started talking again, he convinced her to stay friends who hook up, without all the pressure of a relationship.

The Cool People Post: Zooey & Joseph

They rock, hands down!

I'm a huuuuugeeee Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel fan, like... extra HUGE. It is such a treat when I find news about these two awesome celebs. They both attended the 4th Annual Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards and did an improv session on stage.

I must say though, these pictures don't do the two of them any justice; Zooey looks okay, but Joseph ... not so good. But hey, no matter what ... we know that they're brilliant! Like, really brilliant! I'm so bummed out that I have not gotten the chance to see 500 Days of Summer (when the hell will it be available in Indonesia? I've been waiting for it for aeons!) I know it will be a great movie, though. Anyway, the two of them went on stage to honour screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, and they did it by forgoing their presenter scripts, and treated an audience to a scene of how 500 Days of Summer would have looked like without Neustadter and Weber’s screenplay. On a side note, I wonder whether Joe was invited to Zooey's wedding. He probably was.

Guess where I am? ... I'm at uni, waiting for my exam to start! Which means... That I won't be updating for a while, a maximum of two weeks. CC TV: The Good Wife

His scandal. Her story.

My sister has recently gotten me to watch the new procedural drama on CBS, The Good Wife, starring Julianna Marguiles, Chris Noth and Matt Czuchry (there are of course, others, but I like these three). And I'm happy to report, it's a really good show.

The story begins with state attorney, Peter Florrick (Chris Noth), resigning from his position because he was involved in corruption and also tied up with a couple of hookers. Throughout this ordeal, his wife Alicia Florrick (Julianna Marguiles) played the role of the good wife and stood by him although she hated every part of it. Her husband goes to jail, and she starts practicing law again after years of being out of practice.

That's basically the central storyline. There are of course case-of-the-week episodes like with every procedural drama but I find The Good Wife to be very compelling. I can't stand procedural dramas without storylines (the CSI franchise for example), and The Good Wife has enough intrigue to draw me in. I've only seen two episodes thus far, and I'm loving every bit of it. I first tuned in because my sister told me that Matt Czuchry was in it, but now after two episodes in, I would watch the show with or without him. He being there is of course very, very nice (I miss him so much since his Gilmore Girls days), but the general storyline of The Good Wife is good enough to draw me in without him being there (but this doesn't mean that he should be cut! I will be devastated! Now that I've enjoyed him on the small screen again, I'll be hardpressed to let him go). I hope, though, that throughout the show he will get more and more screen time (that kind of hotness should not be wasted), and I sincerely wish that his character wont turn out to be an ass of some sort.

Watch it. You'll enjoy it, I promise.

Jude Law and Sienna Miller Reunite?

Reports have surfaced that Jude Law and Sienna Miller have decided to give their relationship a try one more time. The couple broke up in 2006 over infidelity; I guess they have now decided to let by-gones be by-gones and reunite... if the reports are to be believed.

A source told Now: "Sienna and Jude have met up a few times and got on really well. Sienna had her heart broken by Jude, but she was young and it was the first time she'd fallen in love. What people don't realise is that they always remained close, so who knows where this will lead to next.

"They're desperate to keep their hook-ups secret because their break-up was so public. They don't want any potential reconciliation all over the papers, especially with Jude having just fathered a child with another woman."

Since their very public break-up back in 06, Miller has dated many guys including Balthazar Getty, who was very married at the time. I don't know what is wrong with this woman, but she seems to always be going for the wrong guys. Given Jude Law's track record, I don't understand why she would want to get back with him (Hello, Samantha Burke?). Sienna Miller is a stunning woman, and she is not even a bad actress. Surely she could find someone better? Ah Sienna, you're setting yourself up for a tragic ending.

Exciting news to be had! Zooey Deschanel (successful singer and actress) will make a guest appearance in her older sister's, Emily Deschanel, procedural drama on FOX, Bones!

The Deschanel sisters working it together! We may have hit our quotient for fun and amusing. They obviously adore each other. - Hart Hanson's (Show Creator) tweet.

I am beyond stoked for this news! I love the Deschanel sisters soooooo much and this will definitely be such a treat to see! I wonder what character Zooey will be playing, I mean, she looks a lot like Emily. But Emily's character on Bones, Temperance Brennan, does not have a sister. A cousin perhaps? Distant relative? Whatever it is, I can't wait! Zooey, the lead singer of the totally awesome band, She & Him, will appear in Bones' Christmas episode. She recently tied the knot with Ben Gibbard, lead singer from Death Cab For Cutie.

UPDATE: Zooey will be playing Brennan's cousin and there will perhaps be a love triangle between them and you know... Booth. :D. I'm so excited!

Miley Must Re-Activate Her Twitter To Save a Cat!

Remember when Miley Cyrus kept sharing to her fans all her emo tweets? And remember when she decided to delete her account at the advice of her boyfriend, Liam? Remember, remember, remember? Well, now there are new developments to be had! One girl, (I assume she's a fan), demands that Miley Cyrus re-activate her twitter account. If Miley does not re-activate it, this fan of hers will kill her own cat, Fuzzy! (Oh no!) If killing is not crazy enough, this fan will cook the then-be-dead cat, and EAT IT! That's freaking WACK people!

Let me clarify: This is NOT a prank or a hoax. I am not joking, even if some will choose to interpret it that way. Cooking a cat is not illegal in my country, in fact it's part of our culture. I'm not asking for money or any other benefit. Fuzzy is my cat and I will not entertain any offers of selling or giving him away. If Miley doesn't tweet again, this WILL happen, and I'm as serious as a heart attack. - From the Girl's Website.

Miley is also given a deadline to fulfill the wish of this pyschotic little girl (not sure how old she is, I assume she's young?); her twitter must be back online by November 16th 2009. She also mentioned that killing, cooking and eating her cat is legal in her country (where the hell...?). We're supposed to raise awareness of this campaign by tweeting #mileysavefuzzy so that Miley has a big chance of finding out that this is happening. What do you think Miley should do? Re-active her account thus caving under this girl's threat? OR, ignore the threat at the risk of the cat being murdered? (Miley likes cats right? Look at her photo!). Whatever she decides to do, one thing's for sure; this fan of hers is one crazy mofo.

Channeling my inner monk

Hey guys! I'm just dropping by to say that I probably wont do any updates today. I just got home from drama practice about an hour or so ago, took a shower, had dinner ... and is tired as hell. I may still update, I'm not sure, nothing is fixed. But incase I don't... I just want you all to know that there is a reason, and I will most definitely update as soon as I can!

Here is an awesome video that I think you all should see (especially those who love Jane Austen as much as I do!) and I hope this will make up for the lack of posting today.

Now I'm not a fan of the outfit that she's wearing in the scenes with the red light; it's a bit too skanky for my taste. However, Meester is definitely rocking it. Imagine if Robin Thicke was replaced by Ed Westwick, how hot would this video clip be? Mr. Thicke has the amazing sexy crooner voice, but Ed Westwick i.e. Chuck Bass has all the sex appeal. For those of you who have not heard Meester's Somebody To Love featuring Robin Thicke, head over to iTunes to purchase it.
